Having only ever met online, vsteeze and Funky DL join forces to create "The Lilac Pack", a 4-track introduction to the unique talents of the Bronx-raised / Atlanta-based MC over DL's pristine trademark production.

The two met after vsteeze impressed DL with a freestyle video over one of his beats after posting it on Twitter in September 2020. DL saw it and they quickly connected on Instagram, agreeing to collaborate to see what happens. In no time, they crafted this 4-track EP entitled "The Lilac Pack".

The EP showcases the pair's diversity as respective MC and Producer... from "East Side", a smooth and laid back jam, radiating the vibe of New York, to "Butta Baby", an uptempo and quirky joint fueled heavily with lively jazz chops.

"Reachin' stretches to the moodier side of boom-bap, whilst "The Gift" commits the EP to its natural authentic Hip-Hop feel.

With beaming melodic undertones over Funky DL's a soulful production, vsteeze effortlessly demonstrates herself as the one to watch.... closely!

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
